I am so excited to announce that the community test screening of the 11Eleven Project held on the 21st September (International Day of Peace) was a wonderful success. Sydney Town Hall was packed, as supporters of the 11Eleven Project had a chance to get a first glimpse of the feature film. The night was kicked off by esteemed actor Charlie Clause (co-host of my favourite Podcast TOFOP) and celebrated by actor and social activist, Imogen Bailey (who has just returned back from visiting a refugee camp in Somalia). Both Charlie and Imogen moved the room with their passion for storytelling and I personally felt truly honoured to have them share a few words with our special audience.

I remember walking onto the stage, addressing the wonderful people in the room, and feeling an overwhelming sense of excitement and nerves. The 11Eleven Project has been brewing in my mind since 2000 and to finally be able to screen it to a group of people was a life changing moment.  More than anything, I felt humbled. Honoured by all who submitted their work to the 11Eleven Project, inspired by my beautiful team who have volunteered tirelessly to make this project a reality, my friends and family who have supported me through this crazy adventure and most importantly the audience – the people I serve to connect and engage with. The overall consensus was that the film made people “laugh and cry” and knowing that gives me the confidence to say I have achieved my objective: to make people connect and care about other human beings. On the night, the audience was asked to fill in a survey and I have been using the valuable feedback as a guideline to complete the final cut of the film.
