Known as the universal language, music has played a central role in the creation of the 11Eleven Project. A medium that knows no boundaries, it has the ability to inspire, evoke emotion and ultimately bring people together; reminding us that despite our diversity we really aren’t that different at all.

Globally, music is used to celebrate, to mourn and to escape. An aspect of our world that the 11Eleven project aims to capture.

“Every single sound used in the 11Eleven Project was recorded on 11.11.11, including the entire soundtrack!” Head of Audio and Production Management, Alex McCann exclaims.

For her, the inclusion of music in the project was about allowing people to “capture their life on 11.11.11 in a way that resonated with them the most.”

Music journalist, producer, and radio presenter Justin Tam sees music as a something to be shared. “You make music for other people.”

“You want the audience, the artist, and the music to be part of the same experience.”

A truly global initiative, the 11Eleven Project is told by the people, for the people. By its very nature, the project has crushed geographically, socially and culturally imposed borders, uniting the world and planting a seed of compassion amongst its people.
